WEST CHESTER, Pa., May 15, 2008 – MEI, the manufacturer with the vending industry’s largest installed base of bill validators, has extended its offer to help operators update their machines. Now through July 15, operators can trade in their existing bill validators for a credit toward the purchase of the latest MEI Series 2000 Flash-programmable validators, which are already equipped to accept the new bill. The Flash-program feature enables fast, one-step software changes.

Operators get a $40 credit for replacing non-Flash MEI Series 2000 validators and a $20 credit for replacing other MEI and non-MEI validators. Operators can trade in bill validators through their local MEI distributor. For a full list of MEI distributors, visit

“Many of our customers who have older bill validator models have not yet updated their machines to accept the new $5,” said Chris Mumford, senior director of sales for the MEI Vending channel. “Our trade-in program is designed to help operators update their fleet of bill validators at a reduced cost. We want to make replacing the entire unit an affordable alternative.”

Many vendors who have taken advantage of this program have already seen the benefits.

“MEI understands the pressures we are facing to upgrade units in these tough financial times,” said Wayne Brewer, service manager for Colonial Vendors in Virginia, “The MEI trade-in program has been a great way for our company to retire older validators at less cost to our business. That will help us with short term cash flow and with long-term profitability.”

The trade-in program is a limited-time offer, so operators must contact an authorized MEI distributor immediately.
